Information Technology places Metropolitan SACCO in a strategic position for efficient and effective delivery of quality products and services to our esteemed customers.
This is achieved by information systems that enableus to:
- Operational efficiency - We have information systems that integrate our activities both at Banking Division and Saving sand Loan Divisionand that enable information to be shared across functional departments. This greatly enhances our operational efficiency and improved services delivery to our customers hence meeting their expectations.
- Branch Networking - ICT has enabled us to establish and share information across our entire network made up of eight (8) branches and 14 satellite offices on real time basis. This makes it possible for our members to transact conveniently from any branch/satellite office without necessarily referring any issue to the Head Office.
- More products and services - Through the use of modern information technology and aligning our business strategy with the IS strategy we have been able to launch more products and services such as visa branded ATM network, SACCO personal cheques and bulk SMS facilities.
E-banking channels like Mobile Banking system enables our members to access financial services at the convenience of their mobile phones. The members can deposit money into their accounts, send funds from their accounts to M-PESA, transfer funds between accounts and even request for salary advance via mobile phones.
Potential customers can as well open accounts via their mobile phones. The M-banking service enables us serve our members in diverse locations efficiently and effectively thereby enhancing customer satisfaction.
Further, the online banking system is in its rudimentary stages which we believe once gone live, will be key in enhanced service delivery.
- Management reporting systems - The information systemin place generates reliable, timely and comprehensive reports used in decision making processes in our organization.
Through the Saccos website (www.metrosacco.co.ke), members and potential members are able to access up to date information about the Sacco including their account statement.
The website also provides for download section where visitors can download forms including membership forms, loan application forms and so on.
The Board is also working on modalities on setting up a call centre to enhance the service delivery.
